Proficiencies

Process Mechanical Engineering

My main experience is the design of fluid systems, with a focus on industrial and utility scale projects. This includes sizing pumps and auxiliary equipment, piping design and pressure drop analysis with modeling tools such as AFT Fathom and PIPE-FLO, plus developing BOMs and working with suppliers to execute projects on time and on budget.

  • Engineer of Record for EPCM projects
  • ASME B31.1 power and B31.3 process piping design
  • Pressure drop analysis and pump/valve sizing
  • Auxiliary equipment specification and BOMs
  • Material selection for corrosive/erosive/high temp service

Systems & Performance

My experience in this includes P&ID and controller functional requirements, trade studies, systems definition and interface documentation, plus testing and commissioning of deliverable products. It also includes failure analysis, technical reports, safety studies, and systems modeling using both software tools and first principles.

  • Functional requirements and ICDs
  • P&ID/PFD development
  • ATEX and NFPA hazardous area classification
  • MIL-STD-882 System Safety
  • Thermodynamic, Fluid/Hydraulic, and Thermal analyses
